Thank you Dart Container for believing in our club!! The Plant Improvement Team at Dart Container of Aurora, gave the North Aurora Mothers Club a very unexpected donation of $5,000. The phone call regarding the Dart Foundation, came as such a wonderful surprise to our President Penny Bantz. Both Penny and Tracy Fischer, President Elect, attended a small ceremony at Dart Container to receive this generous donation.

Each month, the club's Philanthropy committee sets up a collection for a chosen charity, organization or even a family in need. Club members are then asked to donate what they can, and to bring those donations to the monthly club meeting. For instance, in October, the club held a diaper drive for Nieko Morrow, an infant suffering from a rare intestinal disorder called Tuftling Enteropathy who goes through 100 diapers a day. Our members responded by donating hundreds and hundreds of diapers! And in November, the Philanthropy committee collected items to make care packages for troops stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan. Enough snacks, personal hygiene items, sunscreen and more were brought in by our members to make 20 full boxes to send to 10 soldiers! The hearts of our members truly are generous!

On October 24th, members of the North Aurora Mothers Club participated in the NAMI-DKK Batavia Bat Run. Sandra Barraza, Rachel Shoemaker, Stacia Owens, Kerry Windle, Tracy Fischer, and Jen Brazendale completed the 5K in the cold, rain and even snow! Most importantly, they raised money for the National Alliance on Mental Illness for DeKalb, Kane-South and Kendall counties. Thanks, ladies, for your support of this organization.
